Giving Box for September - Books for More Than Words

Giving Box for September for More Than Words bookshop in Waltham.
Please bring your donations for this program to help adolescents who are moving out of the foster care system, and need to learn about business practices in the world.

More Than Words needs books from FPW members and friends..

This communication is to thank those who have brought books to church for the Giving Box. Actually, there are two boxes where you may deposit your donations--one box is in the upstairs vestibule and the other is in the downstairs entrance room--both identified by signs.

This email's purpose is also to ask those of you who have not culled your library yet for hard covered books (novels, tests, travel, cookbooks, etc) and larger paperbacks of all topics will do so by this Sunday or the next. We will complete this year's collection for More Than Words at the end of this month.

During Social Hours the past two Sundays, we learned that many of you have not had time to read The Arbella during this hectic month of start-ups. Many of you wanted more information as to how you might support FPW's efforts to give area adolescents books to stock their store-front book-sale enterprise. This setting affords disconnected(to school, family or society's rules) teens a learning continuum of all phases of operating a business with supervision and specific individual and group goal setting. There is further program description on the bulletin board down in the church school area.

More Than Words has proven to be a success and has been lauded by the communities it serves. Your time and energy bringing books for the Giving Box will have direct effects in the lives of some adolescents learning life survival skills.

Gently read books are needed by this robust operation run by kids who are learning business realities in an organized, social and professional environment.

Thank you to each and all!!
